The South Beach Diet Phase 1

When you are taking a look to see if the South Beach Diet diet is for you, there is a good chance that you will be drawn to the phases, and particularly to Phase one.  For the South Beach Diet, Phase 1 is the most restrictive eating that you have to do, and also the shortest.  You'll find that there are many different options open to you when it comes to getting started with the South Beach Diet, even during Phase 1, but it is very important to stay within the guidelines as much as possible.

One of the reasons why the South Beach Diet is such a success is due to the fact that this first and most strict phase of the diet will help you weed out cravings for unhealthy foods.  You'll find that in this phase, you will remove all dairy that is not low fat, and all fruits as well.

You'll also find that grains are restricted as well until South Beach Diet Phase 2.  This does not mean that you will have to live without them forever; what you are doing is putting your body through a detoxification phase where the last traces of these foods leave your body.  Once this has happened, you'll find that your cravings for things like bad carbohydrates and saturated fats is significantly lower.

For many people, especially ones who have always had whole dairy products and grains in their diet, Phase 1 can take a little bit of getting used to.  However, you'll find that with just a little bit of searching, you'll find many interesting recipes that you can try.  And, you are allowed South Beach Diet-Approved Desserts :)

For many people, this means widening up the array of foods that they cook while at the same time learning to integrate healthy foods into their diets.  People who start the South Beach Diet find themselves integrating a lot more seafood into their diets than they had and they often realize that things like cod, mackerel, shrimp and salmon are delicious along with being good for them.

The South Beach Diet Phase 1 is the most restrictive point in this diet, but by no means does it mean that it is a difficult thing to get to.  People who are interested in getting involved with the South Beach Diet often find that their cooking might need a little bit of adjustment, but frequently they can enjoy the same foods that they always have.  For instance, if your household is big into red meat, you'll find that you can definitely still eat it; all you have to do is be a little careful about what cuts you use.

During Phase 1, you'll learn about nutritious cooking that tastes great and that will allow you to develop healthy habits.  Take some time to both read up on the South Beach Diet Phase 1 and to figure out exactly what it can do for you!
